Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 in the Philippines[edit]
Hello Lordartworks,
thanks for taking part in Wiki Loves Monuments 2012! I can see that you released the pictures under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 licence, though the information in the EXIF metadata (for example here) says that the picture is released under the CC-BY-NC (with the NonCommercial clause). Could you please confirm that you want to release them under the CC-BY-SA? We only accept this licence for pictures from Wiki Loves Monuments 2012. Thanks, odder (talk) 17:30, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi Odder, I'd like to confirm that I want to release ALL of them under the CC-BY-SA. I thought the upload and CC process would remove/ignore my old CC.
I hope I replied on the right page, please let me know if got this message.
Thank you.
- Hi Lordartworks, and thank you for such a prompt reply! Yes, usually the copyright tag that is placed below the image (in the description field) does the trick; here, I just wanted to confirm the copyright status because the EXIF data said the pictures are released under CC-BY-NC (the software we use, MediaWiki, does not remove any information from the picture and preserves the EXIF data added by the author of the image).
- As for the message, there are two usual ways of communicating on Wikimedia wikis: you can write on another user's talk page (mine is here), or you can leave a reply to a message on your user page (so the discussion stays at the same place and it's easier to follow). In the end, I got the message OK :-) Thanks for clearing this up, and welcome to Wikimedia Commons! odder (talk) 17:54, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

No problem, again thank you.
Have a nice day!

Dear Lordartwork!
Please accept this barnstar as a thank-you for taking part in Wiki Loves Monuments 2012—did you know that your pictures are the first ones to be uploaded in this years' competition? The pictures are beautiful and are a powerful milestone in making WLM the biggest photo competition in the world. I hope you will enjoy being a user of Wikimedia Commons, and maybe will stay with us for longer? In any case, thanks for participating, and good luck! odder (talk) 18:06, 31 August 2012 (UTC) |
