"Ta dernière nomination a un pb technique"[edit]

Salut !

Cordialement, Bourgeois.A (talk) 12:32, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hard for me not to be too picky! --Myrabella (talk) 20:36, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's used by the template to adjust the preview size. Like the upright parameter when using an image. MediaWiki lacks a feature for automated displaying a useful thumb size according to image aspect ratio. --Ikar.us (talk) 11:28, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bien cordialement . JLPC (talk) 18:25, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FluoriteUV.jpg[edit]

Hallo Archaeodontosaurus, I just noticed, that the picture of your VI-nomination has a lot of artefacts. Double outlines (DO) and cloudy structures (CS), both are typical artefacts of stacking. In addition, there are masking errors (ME) around the mineral. I have made annotations to each kind of artefacts, but this are only examlpes, there are far more. It doesn't matter in VI-nomination, but if you intend to nominate as QI, it should be corrected. Greetings and a Happy New Year --Llez (talk) 16:43, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for having scored only its few flaws. There are many more. I had not seen them. This is an image already old, more than 3 years. And it is seeing all these defects, I measure the path I have traveled in the treatment of photographs. As progress in 3 years. COMMONS is a great school where we both teachers and students. But the most valuable, they are friends, which you are. I wish you a very good year. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 20:14, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Change of Scope for VI nominated Dome of the Rock, Facade[edit]

Picture of the Year voting round 1 open[edit]

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

  1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
  2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
  3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

To see the candidate images just go to the POTY 2012 page on Wikimedia Commons

Wikimedia Commons celebrates our featured images of 2012 with this contest. Your votes decide the Picture of the Year, so remember to vote in the first round by January 30, 2013.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

N'hésite pas à me redemander des trucs. Effectivement! Tu as trouvé une vrai mine.

A toi d'y courir, tiens moi au courant ! --Jebulon (talk) 15:10, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
PS.

Peux-tu m'en dire plus sur ton commentaire "Identification of the animal is not made" ? --Llann .\m/ (Lie 2 me ...) 16:45, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 18:39, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
J'ai apporté quelques modif's supplémentaires. Je verrai bien ... Merci encore. --Llann .\m/ (Lie 2 me ...) 21:18, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FP etc...[edit]

salut,

bien à toi, --Jebulon (talk) 20:21, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm very disappointed to see some people consider that discussion targeting against Archaeo or Llez. In-fact it is against nominators who try to nominate as many pictures as possible from main individual contributors (including you) and other institutional ones (like NASA). On the first reply itself I pointed that we (me and Alves) should refrain from nominating similar works of our own FP. I don't think the interest of the nominators who repeatedly nominating your work is very genuine (I've doubts at least). See the very unhealthy conflicts raised here. Sorry for any misunderstanding if occurred. JKadavoor Jee 06:13, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Aller on s’y remet. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 07:13, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oui tu as bien compris.
--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 07:00, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Tout à fait. Hi Archeo, I understood that you will be in Venice in march. Is this still in your plans. I'll be in Venice on the evenings 5, 12, 19, 26 of march 2013. I'd be happy if we could meet for dinner. Regards --Wolfgang Moroder (talk) 17:32, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

My wife and my daughter will come to Venice in the family, but I'm stuck at work. I would come in May. I bought the D800E, it is difficult to use artificial light, because there are a lot of chromatic aberration. The D800 was the right choice . --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 18:14, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, well, let's do it in May. I thought i'd better buy a D800E, so you convince me I was right. I think (that's at least my experience) that CA dipends more from the lens and I avoid it using lower apertures like f/11. Let's share our experiences. But I am sure you enjoy the new camera. Gallery Suggestion[edit]

Hi Archaeodontosaurus- Thanks for the suggestion. It will take some shaping, but here is the first stage of the U.S. Currency Gallery. While I have a great deal of experience with banknotes, I have made an amateurish attempt to create a basic taxonomic hierarchy in numismatics. I am not a biologist (nor do I have experience with taxonomic tables), but have attempted to use the existing framework/labels. I don't know if it will make you laugh or cry, or just scratch your head, but any feedback is welcome. Thank you--Godot13 (talk) 08:55, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Perspective correction...[edit]

How did you do that? Its not just cropping. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 08:17, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There are many software that can do this job. Many are free and open. I use Photoshop CS6 (not free). We straighten the edges and expands the upper 1/3 of the image upwards. You can not do that if you have the space on both sides of the monument. With a little practice you get there quickly ... Test! --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 09:09, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cepaea nemoralis[edit]

Hallo Archaedontosaurus. I didn't dare to nominate a single specimen of this species as "typical" hitherto, for we have a lot of colour variation (white, pink, yellow. reddish, brown). In addition, we have unicolored specimens, with 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 bands, in addition sometimes several bands fused and so on. What is typical for the species? I think, there are also reginal differences. All in all, a set would be better to describe the species. But let's see, what others say. --Llez (talk) 08:54, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is true. In my collection I have a shell with no pattern but with the edge of the peristome black that characterizes this species. I put a note on the image to fit the distinctive sign of the species. I'll try to get a good picture of my specimen. It will be a good exercise because I do not control much my new camera. :)

Ethnologie[edit]

Bonjour Didier,
A remonter, il me semble.

--Myrabella (talk) 13:29, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Images from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences[edit]

Hello,

Currently, I work for the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) as Wikipedian in Academy and one of the researchers at the university have started to upload his own pictures from the Insect collection at SLU (Category:Insect collection SLU, Uppsala). Do you think the pictures are possible to nominate as VI? Should there be any additions in the scope? I ask you because you seem to be one of the most experienced users at VI.--ArildV (talk) 13:51, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is great news for the community. It should encourage the institutions to submit their images in COMMONS. The majority of these images are eligible VI. It would be useful to create a template for the university and is present on all images. As we did for the Museum of Toulouse Here. This is to thank the institution that helped make the images. I'm waiting on some practical details for VI. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 14:31, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Focus stacking[edit]

Bonjour Didier,
--Myrabella (talk) 20:30, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 06:37, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Archaeodontosaurus, Juste par curiosité: How do you make such an image? Single image or stacking? And how do you get the lévitation effect and the shadow? Best regards -- Norbert Nagel (talk) 19:58, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

But especially in the skeleton is very poorly lit corner. I often pass in front to get in and out of the museum. That evening there was a very low sunshine that made photography possible. I pulled out my tripod and I made 2 groups of photos. A front group and a rear group as the junction of the glass passes through the center of the backbone. Each group is made of four stacks of focus stacking. Groups are stacked and final images are the two assemblies. The problem is that while working the sunbeam fell and the tail is poorly lit. Then the whole skeleton outline, work a little long, but is a good workout. It remains only to make a background. There is a false light shade and a false but respects the direction of initial lumen. His images are "studies" that are time consuming but are interesting to grow. The majority of my studies end up in the trash. But we must take time to experiment and see if "we can do".--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 06:43, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Enluminure carolingienne[edit]

Merci !

Moi, ça me parle.
