Thank you for providing images to the commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on the commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:

  • Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
  • State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikipedia user, link to the person's local user page.
  • If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
  • Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
  • Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, have a look at Commons:Licensing, Commons:Criteria for inclusion and the Community Portal. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Village pump. Thank you.

Image deletion warning Image:Milan BuenosAires AN.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

HKSARFlagConstructionSheet[edit]

Hi AnyFile,

Thanks for redrawing the flag. Both Image:HKSARFlagConstructionSheet 2.svg and Image:HKSARFlagConstructionSheet.png.svg look great. I am pretty new to SVG editing, and Image:HKSARFlagConstructionSheet.png looked like an image that I would be able to draw as SVG. Guess I was a bit mistaken.

The only thing that I noticed was that you wrote 13°48' and not 13.48°. Those two are different measurements. I took all of the measurements from the original PNG - I don't know of any written description of the flag, and the English Wikipedia article doesn't have a description. As for the circle around the star, as before, my only source is the PNG.

As for the files, I suggest that you upload the file to Image:HKSARFlagConstructionSheet.svg, and then both of the current SVGs get deleted {{Badname}}. What do you think?

BTW, you mentioned that you edit SVGs with a text editor, not WYSIWYG (inkscape). Is it easier? Does it give better results? I'd like to become quite proficient at SVG editing, so any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Reuvenk 06:17, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to "10:49, 8 October 2007 (UTC)" message:
The flag isn't mine. Its Image:Flag of Hong Kong.svg. I have no where near enough experience or knowledge to diagnose the problem. I can tell you that I make lines in Inkscape by using the Bezier curves tool and locking the angle of the line. Maybe I should invest some time into learning the SVG "XML" code and doing these manually. Thanks again for all the help! Reuvenk 12:43, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see you removed my {{Badname}} on Image:HKSARFlagConstructionSheet 2.svg. Just realized that the two are different (the 11 measurment), so my bad. I'm going to stop editing the flags for a bit to avoid edit conflicts, and later I may make edits if I see fit. Sorry again for the deletion request. Reuvenk 12:53, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Traduzione[edit]

Salve! Vedo che hai fatto Commons:Picture of the Year/2007/banner2/it. Posso contribuire con un Italiano di livello molto semplice, e pertanto non posso tradurre molto. Questo sta bene? Grazie! RedCoat 15:32, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
