Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Hi Jeff

about copy right problem:

1- My maps are in the exception of Wikimedia: "You can upload someone else’s work if it is in the public domain". see:https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:First_steps/Contributing/fa

on the other hand, I could not find any comment on google webpage about copy rights or for-profit information. If you find any things, please show me.

2- It is the Google goal: "Our mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful." I help them. What is your problem?

3- I have a google account. It is privacy policy of google: "You can export a copy of content in your Google Account if you want to back it up or use it with a service outside of Google." So my work is possible and legally.

4-I could find some thing else in Wikimedia, they do same thing but said themselves as creator. I can change creator to myself to solve the problem.

Which one can I do to solve the problem?

Google is an American company, and thus since 1989 the works of Google are automatically copyrighted the moment they are fixed in a tangible medium of expression, even if that medium is a block of RAM or disk space on a Google system. @Alim arjmandi: kindly understand also COM:Licensing#Acceptable licenses. Google Maps contents are not licensed in such a way these can be epxloited commercially without permission from Alphabet Inc. (Google). Yes Google aims to disseminate information and knowledge on geography and other aspects from travel to culture, but they do not allow their content to be freely exploited for commerical use. maps-for-free.com is a German website. Per COM:GERMANY, Germany has been a signatory to the Berne convention since 5 December 1887. So a copyright sign is not needed, ~~and~~ however, maps from there are unacceptable on Commons due to the CC-0 license hidden behind an icon. I do not eliminate files here, I am not allowed. However, I did mistakenly tag File:Amazonas und Reliefkarte.png for speedy deletion because the source does not have the alleged free license ~~(or any free license acceptable here)~~. Hello Alim arjmandi, I've never seen those deleted pictures, but if they were as well just maps from http://www.maps-for-free.com, you can get them back (or reload them, if you still have a copy on your computer), in this discussion about a mass-deletion spree against stuff from there it was made clear beyond any doubt, that that deletion template was frivolous, as there are clear free licenses given on that page, the owner himself even commented on the talk-page. I do not eliminate files here, I am not allowed. However, I did mistakenly tag File:Amazonas und Reliefkarte.png for speedy deletion because the source does not have the alleged free license (or any free license acceptable here). But some one tell me what encyclopedia is Wikipedia that the Amazon River is full of maps, satellite image, etc. without copy right? Only a river in my city need copy right???

Hello Alim arjmandi, I've never seen those deleted pictures, but if they were as well just maps from http://www.maps-for-free.com, you can get them back (or reload them, if you still have a copy on your computer), in this discussion about a mass-deletion spree against stuff from there it was made clear beyond any doubt, that that deletion template was frivolous, as there are clear free licenses given on that page, the owner himself even commented on the talk-page.
