File:Gerb-Adygei.gif[edit]

Dear Acather96 thank you for your revision, but please be informed that this file was took by a Camera to a medal with the coat of Arm of Adygheya, also the coat of arm considered as a Circassians heritage in which Sawserakwa the legendary charachter is depicted on it, either this sign (coat of Arm) is used in many places such as newspapers, books, etc and before being the coat of arm of Adygheya in 1991, so it considered as a public for all the Circassians.

File:AdygheInSochi.jpg[edit]

Regarding this file, those are members of my tribe in Sochi , they are from the Shapsugs and they were in a national cermony in a public place, beside the memory stone of the Circassians who were killed during the Russian Invation over Circassia, and as a result to follow the rule of Wikipedia I will change the Source to be identical to the uploader name because it is not claimed PD-self but it is really PD-self.

File:ShapsougiaFlag1.gif & File:ShapsougiaFlag.gif[edit]

Regarding these files, they were our flags before 150 Years! so there was no copyright!!!! and it belong to the whole tribe and our people fight under this flag for hundreds of years!!!!! plleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssee, it is unlogic talking about copy rights for this item!!! .

File:Tahtamuk.gif =[edit]

Regarding this file, it was created by our people the Shapsug in the district of Tahtamuk, it was design by them, so please help me to cite that fact, i don't know how to deal with it.

Thank you again.....

Images from Efraa-marlies[edit]

Hi,

I noticed you notified Efra-marlies that the source was not available for three of her images. She did put the information there, but forgot to close a template, which was therefore not properly displayed (which was visible in the edit version.

She is one of the participants of Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments, and therefore not very familiar with how templates and all work - you will see more of these people uploading the coming weeks. I would greatly appreciate it if you could approach these people a little less appearingly hostile, and fix their template when it is broken instead of putting this great red-lined warning template on their talkpage to tell them to fix it themselves. Because first of all, from the template it is not clear to them what they have to do. Secondly, it is very intimidating, and might just scare them off - of course the opposite of what we are trying to accomplish with this competition. And thirdly it would be even less time consuming for you to just add the "}}" instead of adding a template on the image, adding a template on their talkpage, and afterwards someone else has to look it up, understand the problem and fix it anyways.

I know you probably did not intend to scare people or appear hostile, so please take this as constructive suggestions rather than blunt criticism. Thank you for your cooperation making Wiki Loves Monuments a lasting success by getting these people familiar and happy with Commons, hopefully it will result in some extra long term community members that way! --Effeietsanders (talk) 10:38, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am very sorry and sincerely apologise. Looking back on my edits they seem very cold and Draconian, and to a new user, unwelcoming. The reason I did tag it for no source was because I did see the broken template, but thought that the ' {{Information = {{ Description}} = was literally all she had typed. Next time I'll check to see if there is a broken template before tagging. Thank you for being so civil in what must have looked like hostile, 'bitey' editing, again I really am sorry. I've got rid of the messages on her talkpage. Thanks, Acather96 (talk) 09:36, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, can happen :) Thanks a lot for your reply, and I hope you'll have the opportunity to do checking with many new users! :) Effeietsanders (talk) 09:37, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help with deletion noms[edit]

File:Villarcayo 001 Los Leones Potato chips.jpg[edit]

Hi Acather96. How could I solve this file removal?. many thanks in advance Valdavia (talk) 11:21, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The artwork of the file is, I think, copyrighted - so you can't really claim that the work is under a Creative Commons license, as the company hasn't put the packet under a Creative Commons license. You are, however, free to comment on the deletion nomination page here, or you could host it as fair-use on a local Wikipedia project. Acather96 (talk) 19:05, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Year 2013 R1 Announcement[edit]

Hi :)[edit]

I was just wondering if you remember what the picture you nominated on Commons:Deletion_requests/File:Instant_beef_noodle_soup.jpg was and why you nominated it to be deleted, if not, no problem either. --HiddenKnowledge (talk) 04:14, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@HiddenKnowledge: Hi :). I think it was a photograph of an instant noodles pot, the packaging which is a copyrighted work was why it was deleted. Would you like for me to try and get you a copy of it? :) Acather96 (talk) 11:08, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, thanks! I was just wondering. --HiddenKnowledge (talk) 04:43, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Picture of the Year 2013 R2 Announcement[edit]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2013 is open![edit]

2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 7 March 2014. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2013/Introduction/en Click here to learn more and vote »]

File:Packets of haribo.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
