Describator should be a stand-alone desktop tool for faster file description and deployment to Wikimedia projects (Wikidata, Wikipedia).

Original proposal

In short, the tool can work as follows.

Before going on photowalk

1. Photographer will choose on the map what interests him (could filter by groups, yes/no photographs), or may load its own file with pre-prepared files
2. The tool will generate QR codes for each point of interest with object name (taken from Wikipedia) and coordinates. This could be printed or saved to a cell phone.

During a photo walk

1. Before picture taking of each object, the photographer will take a photograph of QR code. If taking photographs of an object not planned, special QR code indicating the need for manual identification could be used.

After photowalk

1. Load all images from the photowalk to Describator
2. Describator will generate filenames, description, structured data tags, categories
3. Photographer may add other data and chose a photograph to be used in Projects
4. Describator will upload your files and deliver them to Wikimedia projects
