Additional notes: This request will complete the shield needs for the State of Arkansas. My subpage has each highway listed by county, including duplicates. (w:User:Brandonrush/AR state highways) This request was first proposed here before being pointed here by Imzadi 1979.

Does "shields with a 1" include signs outside of the 100 series, e.g. 314? --Svgalbertian (talk) 06:45, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
That analysis is correct, Svgalbertian. In a way, my request could be two. Brandonrush (talk) 18:08, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
I understand now, I just never heard of a state doing that before so I wanted to make sure. No reason to make it two requests, but if you could split it up into two sequences that would be greatly appreciated.--Svgalbertian (talk) 20:04, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
No doubt it is odd, but I live in the Natural State and that's how they do it. Thanks for the help! Brandonrush (talk) 20:34, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Additional notes: The 3-digits numbers that don't have a 1 in the number should be whichever series as needed, preferably C, but B if necessary. Imzadi 1979  01:30, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Status: Complete

Can you please expand the sequence to list every number in full? Thanks. --Svgalbertian (talk) 21:22, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Done, but didn't the instructions say to use ranges? Imzadi 1979  21:58, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
And before you comment, yes, M-22 has always been spec'd in Series C. A "2" is the only number with a full width at the bottom, meaning a Series D "22" doesn't fit as the diamond is narrowing to its point. Imzadi 1979  22:00, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
I just clarified the instructions. I meant to allow ranges only for long continous sets. In the future, if the range is greater than 20 then you can write it like that. Thanks.--Svgalbertian (talk) 22:03, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
✓ Done, just so you know the M and the digits were not centered. Also be sure to use center justification when making templates. --Svgalbertian (talk) 15:46, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Is it possible to narrow the request down. 1000 images is excessive for a single state. --Svgalbertian (talk) 18:40, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
I was discussing this earlier with him earlier on IRC. When he was showing me the first part of his list, there were three or four numbers missing in the 1-150 series. He also mentioned that Pennsylvania numbers went as high as 999. So essentially, 1-999 was far simpler to request than finding every single route. –Fredddie 20:06, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
For historic state routes I really rather only make signs for routes that were known to exist. Most these images will have very limited use on Wikipedia as it is. --Svgalbertian (talk) 23:37, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm not convinced I can please you. The list is still >300 images, and I doubt you want to make 300 shields either. Mitch32(Transportation Historian) 01:42, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
300 is fine. I just want some thought put into these so I am not making 1000 images for every request.--Svgalbertian (talk) 01:50, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
I had a list, Fredddie suggested I delete it in favor of the 1-999 thing, and I did. I'm not sure of the total member because I got to 401 when I stopped. Could be 300, could be 500. I don't know what to do, but recreate the list, which will take more time than today.Mitch32(Transportation Historian) 18:00, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Let the record show that I only suggested to request 1-999. I never suggested deleting the list. –Fredddie 23:42, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
500 is fine too, I just want some thought put into these requests. How different is the route list from what exists today? When was this shield phased out? 1948? Do you have a list of highways created after 1948? If so we could just remove those from the list of routes that exists today. I have also added some lists below that might be helpful. If needed I would be happy to help you crunch some of theses numbers. --Svgalbertian (talk) 00:12, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Dayum. I may make a suggestion. Use this over M-Plex. Yes both are SPS, but this one is much better. I cut a few out of your list from it.Mitch32(Transportation Historian) 04:00, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Additional notes: The existing markers are very poorly drawn. As you can see by enlarging File:MT-sec-205.svg to 500px, the arrowhead is woefully lacking in detail, the rounded corners aren't smooth, and the edges of the shield are curved. I've taken the sign detail and made a new template (above) with a more accurate arrowhead design, smooth corners, and straight edges. I also replaced the existing MT Sec. 201 shield to show an example of the new design in action. I'm aware that the directions call for a community discussion when a large number of shields are involved; however, IMO this is a fairly uncontroversial request. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 20:12, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

I am trying to cut down on the number of extra files this bots creates. Do you have a completion list or would w:List of Montana numbered highways (including former section) contain all the highways.--Svgalbertian (talk) 22:27, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
I don't have a completion list, nor can I guarantee that that page has all of the needed numbers. All I know is that the existing shields need to be replaced, and that at least three more shields (specifically 293, 307, and 319) are needed than what currently exists. Since I have no interest in Montana beyond the previous two points, I'm not going to make an effort to determine an exact list. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 22:51, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
this seems to be where the list on WP came from, I would concur with the range block asked for by TMF. --Admrboltz (talk) 23:40, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I parsed the Wikipedia article and the existing images and have come up with this list. I'll probably complete this request tommorow. --Svgalbertian (talk) 06:20, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay, I was busy for a few weeks. Comparing the example to the template the border seems off. I perfer the border in the example, as it renders at all sizes better. Can you fix it? --Svgalbertian (talk) 17:20, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I have fixed the outline, request accepted. --Svgalbertian (talk) 18:31, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

While this is being done, we might as well clean up the marker graphics a bit. Do you have a photo of any markers, either on Commons or another site? Imzadi 1979  23:54, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Imzad, can you please check http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/4927/51378298.jpg --Naveenpf (talk) 03:35, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok, so while working on this request, we should update the template so that the results look like that photo more. I'll see what I can do in the coming days. Imzadi 1979  17:57, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
I will wait for Imzadi1979's updated marker.--Svgalbertian (talk) 13:53, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Things have been a bit busy here, but I'm working on it. Imzadi 1979  03:09, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Updated with template --Naveenpf (talk) 05:40, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Not done, the template is not of high enough quality, it should look more like en:File:SH42 Original.jpg or File:MPSR11.jpg
