Taxonomy is a tool to quickly, easily and conveniently create a Commons (in the future - WP, WD, etc.) chain of categories ("bread crumbs"). While implemented: wiki-formatting, copying to the clipboard.

To do[edit]

1) Touch-version, 2) Wikidata section, 3) Wikipedia section 4) improve taxonomy.css + taxonomy.js

Browser Support[edit]

The program uses HTML "datalist" tag, so, the first browser version that fully supports this: Chrome 20.0, IE/EDGE 10.0, Firefox 4.0, Safari - Not supported, Opera 9.0.

How to use/help[edit]

Enabling[edit]

To enable the tool, copy the following code to your common.js: importStylesheet("User:Fractaler/taxonomy.css"); importScript("User:Fractaler/taxonomy.js");

Double tap/click[edit]

Double-tapping/clicking on the top panel is used to:

1) If "category chain mode": to copy the chain of categories to the buffer (button "Copy").

2) If "the last category mode:

a) to select a category from all categories
b) to replace "is"-sign with another sign

Dragging[edit]

Partially implemented ("mouse").

Where to use[edit]

For example, in "Categories for discussion", when for clarification you need to add a chain of categories.

Eg, "Category:B-6140 (aircraft) -> Category:Aircraft by registration -> Category:Aircraft registrations -> Category:Aviation data -> Category:Data" instead a category tree
