This user account is a bot operated by African Hope (talk). It is not a sock puppet, but rather an automated or semi-automated account for making repetitive edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually. This bot is operated by African Hope. It is used for running maintenance tasks related to Projet Côte d'Ivoire and others when needed. Below are the recent operations performed by the bot.

TheNounProject

Problems

As requested by John Cummings on the bot works request page, a bot is needed for batch uploading icons from TheNounProject website. The Noun Project releases most of its icons under CC-BY 4.0 or CC-zero license that could be imported to Commons.

Tasks of the bot

• The bot uses TheNounProject API searching for icons that are under Public domain or CC-BY-SA licenses. Once icons are fetched they are uploaded to Commons.
• Icons are imported to 2 main categories : SVG icons from The Noun Project and SVG icons from The Noun Project needing additional categorisation. A solution was found. Unique ID of icons will be added to their title eg: File:Analytics (1510698) - The Noun Project.svg

Issues encountered

• Sometimes icons at thenounproject.com have duplicate names so the bot gets confused and ends up uploading many icons as new versions of a same icon: example here

Crop for Wikidata needs cleanup

There are a lot of images in [[Category:Crop for Wikidata that have already been cropped, and feature {{Extracted from}}, but are still tagged with {{Crop for Wikidata}}.

Tasks of the bot

• The bot will remove the unnecessary {{Crop for Wikidata}} template from the image
• It will also remove the template from the parent image it was cropped from.

Tasnimnews

Problems

Over 2500 photos from the category Photos from tasnimnews.com miss the {{LicenseReview}} tag along with the {{Tasnim}} and [[Category:Tasnimnews review needed]] tags.

Tasks of the bot

• The bot uses the PetScan API and browse through the Photos from tasnimnews.com, searching for photos that do not have the {{LicenseReview}} tag.
• The photos are edited, adding the {{subst:Tasnim/subst}} template which itself automatically adds {{LicenseReview}} tag along with the {{Tasnim}} and [[Category:Tasnimnews review needed]].

Issues encountered

• Some photos use the {{Tasnim}} or {{tasnim}} tag whereas a {{Tasnim}} tag is inserted automatically by the {{subst:Tasnim/subst}} template. The bot then searches for any occurrence of either {{Tasnim}} or {{tasnim}} tag, removes it in order to avoid duplication. When using the '''Status:'''{{subst:Tasnim/subst}} a {{Tasnim}} is added anyway.
