I am a french neuroscientist born in 1957 in Bordeaux where I grew up and started university in Biology. I moved to Strasbourg in 1978 to complete my studies in Neurobiology, obtained a first PhD in 1983 in Neuroscience and a second one in Pharmacology in 1990. I obtained a position at Inserm in 1986 as a junior researcher to work at the Centre de Neurochimie and then was promoted as a director of research in 1999. I moved to Grenoble in 2003 to lead a research team working on epilepsy at the Grenoble Institute of Neuroscience.

My main research works were on the neural circuits of fear (1981-1992) and then epilepsies (1986-).
