Problem when used inside Template:Flickr[edit]

I've noticed that when this template is used inside of Template:Flickr, the image does not get added to the category Category:CC-BY-SA-2.0. This was on a page that was generated by User:Flickr upload bot. You can see the behavior on this image. Image:Fullerton_Hotel_in_Singapore_at_night_-_modery.jpg. The template {{Cc-by-2.0}} seems to have the same problem as well. --Smiller933 05:42, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, strange. There must be an error somewhere inside the license templates (including at least the german/austrian language subversion, it does seem to work with {{Cc-by-sa}} and {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}}. The 2.5 versions seem to be affected, too. {{Cc-by-sa-2.5,1.0}} is not affected. If editing a strange message appears on the bottom listing the used templates: This page is a member of 1 hidden category: Category:CC-BY-SA-2.0 --Denniss 14:48, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I looked some more. It appears that I was wrong about template {{Cc-by-2.0}} - it seems to work great within a flickr template. Here's an example: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Des_Moines%2C_Iowa_skyline_after_Dark_-_pathawks.jpg. So perhaps by comparing the two templates, the bug could be isolated.
Also I took a look and saw the "This page is a member of 1 hidden category:" message. Good catch! I hadn't noticed it. --Smiller933 15:35, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like Category:CC-BY-SA-2.0 was marked with HIDDENCAT. Not sure if that is a good idea or not, but that is the cause. Carl Lindberg 15:21, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, xes. Seen that, too. It looks like all license tags and their cats were changed to hidden cats. --Denniss 23:04, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move page and change categorization[edit]

{{edit request}} This template should be renamed Template:CC BY-SA 2.0. All references to "CC-BY-SA-2.0" in the source should be changed to "CC BY-SA 2.0". It is far past time that Commons cleans up its act and starts using correct formatting for the CC license names. This is a good testbed for starting to do this long overdue job.  Not done All of the CC templates would need to be changed at once to keep them unified, and the amount of changes it would require in order to properly implement the change are *significant*. This isn't a change that'll be done unilaterally through {{edit request}}. If you want, you can raise the issue at Commons:Village pump/Proposals.
