A dark brown fossil fish facing left on pale tan stone. About 2/3 of the fishes body is located below the spine.

The primitive fresh water herring grow to two feet in length. It was very lightly scaled making it difficult to prepare since the scales do not overlap across the entire body. When prepared carefully the skin can be exposed between the scales. Catalog number FOBU791.
