English: Pylon on Plains Lane, Elland This pylon marks the end of the overhead high-voltage line. The electricity cables run down into the ground below the two basket-shaped platforms. Laying high-voltage cables underground is significantly more expensive than the normal overhead method. Why this has been done here is uncertain. |
