Modellen överlämnades efter stapelavlöpningen till Prins Oscar men efter hans död kom den i privat ägo. Inköptes av direktör H Granholm, Stockholm och skänktes av honom till förutvarande Sveriges Sjöfartsmuseum i Stockholm. Restaurerades på museets modellverkstad med ledning av originalritningarna 1931-32 på bekostnad av ing. O Botolfsen, Sthlm. Det klipperbyggda skeppet var ett av de första i Storbritannien byggda segelfartygen av järn. Skeppet sjönk 1895 i sydatlanten efter kollision med ett okänt fartyg, möjligen identiskt med barkskeppet Lord Downshire av Belfast som samtidigt försvann med man och allt i samma farvatten. Av Prince Oscars besättning räddades endast 3 man. 1292 reg. ton Namnsignal: HBJD Reg.nr: 514O3 (Ll. 1895-96). 220m lång 37.0 BR 21.7 DJ
