English: Entrance to The Grange A pony-trekking centre now occupies the place where first Father Ignatius and then Eric Gill settled with their followers and failed in both their enterprises, defeated partly by the isolation and hardship of life in this remote corner of the Black Mountains. Horse-riding seems a much more appropriate way of life than either the 'monk' or the sculptor attempted here. |
