Description
English: Title: Declaration of Independence

Abstract: An unfinished proof of John Binns's illuminated facsimile of the Declaration of Independence (no. 1819-1), deposited for copyright on November 4, 1818. The proof lacks the seals of North Carolina and Georgia, the portraits, the eagle, the text of the Declaration, the other inscriptions and imprints, and much of the finished detail engraving. Physical description: 1 print on wove paper : engraving and etching ; sheet 91.4 x 68 cm.

Notes: Published in: American political prints, 1766-1876 / Bernard F. Reilly. Boston : G.K. Hall, 1991, entry 1818-1.; Sheet trimmed on both sides to within platemark.
