Notes
  • Significance: Franklin Avenue Bridge is significant as an important structure in the neighborhood development of the city, making possible extensive residential construction in the Franklin Hills area and creating a roadway connection to East Hollywood and the Ivanhoe District. A prominent Los Angeles landmark, the structure demonstrates the Bureau's capacity to design a residential-scale span as well as the monumental Los Angeles River bridges which were constructed at about the same time.
  • Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: N858
  • Survey number: HAER CA-286
  • Building/structure dates: 1926 Initial Construction
