Summary[edit]

Description
English: Rab14-labeled vesicular structures carry sphingolipids to the inclusion. HeLa cells overexpressing GFP-Rab14wt (green) were infected for 24 h with C. trachomatis serovar L2 (MOI 5). Then, cells were labeled for 40 minutes with BODIPY TR Ceramide (red) and chased for 30 minutes prior fixation. Hoescht stained bacterial DNA (blue). Image was reconstructed from consecutive z-sections assessed by confocal microscopy. Note intrainclusion vesicular structures labeled with Rab14wt (green) full of sphingolipids (red) in close contact with bacteria (blue).
