Description
English: Called together by the San Jose Nikkei Resisters,  the San Jose Nikkei community and friends turned out to protest family separations, border detentions and the use of FORT SILL, Oklahoma infamous for its incarceration of Japanese Issei during WW2 and earlier as a prison for native people including Apache leader Geronimo.

Sponsors of the vigil, in addition to San Jose Nikkei Resisters, included Asian Law Alliance, Nihonmachi Outreach Committee, J-Town Community TV and JACLs from San Jose, Silicon Valley and Sequoia (Palo Alto).

San Jose Nikkei Resisters meets on the second Tuesday of the month in the Issei Memorial Building (565 N. 5th St.) at 7pm.  Join Us!
