Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Perhaps the only trace left of the former North London Railway. On the grass until the early 1980s were two railway tracks connecting Hackney Wick with the London Docks. In the 1970s only the eastern track was in use for the infrequent goods trains, and towards the end, the western track took over. From about 1984 the trackbed south of the main Great Eastern Main line was taken over by the Dockland Light railway and the northern section between there and Victoria Park Junction became overgrown and gave way to piecemeal housing developments, bridge demolition and garden extensions.
The sharply rise in the former A102(M),now the A12 is to clear the Great Northern Outfall Sewer then the Herford Canal. |
