Like an interesting piece of tapestry is woven this fine march two-step. Nanka Estelle Faucette lived from 1874 to 1931, was born in Mississippi and mainly resided in St. Louis as a musician and teacher. Published by White-Smith Music Co. in Boston, New York and Chicago in 1901. She published this and at least one other score, "Cyclist Two-Step" in 1906. Score #166 in my current ongoing series "Women Ragtime Composers" featuring interesting selections all written by ragtime era women. This series on YouTube has now passed 50,000 pageviews since uploading started less than two months ago, which makes me very happy.
