Deutsch: Das Erzbischöfliche Ordinariat Freiburg wurde von Raimund Jeblinger entworfen und 1903/06 erbaut. Die Ausmalung des Inneren wurde von Franz Schilling ausgeführt.
English: The Archbishop's Palace in Freiburg was designed by the historicist architect Raimund Jeblinger (1853-1937) and constructed 1903-06, during the archepiscopacy of Thomas Nörber. The painting of the interior was carried out by the Freiburg firm of Franz Schilling (1879-1964). While the exterior of Landstuhl sandstone is neo-Romanesque in style and thereby linked to the medieval Hohenstaufen architecture of the region, the vividly colored interior is eclectic, adding elements of Byzantine art, art nouveau (including Beuron Abbey style), and even American Indian design (notably, the silver Holy Spirit in the shape of a totem pole, but also the stepped base of the crucifix in the Meeting Hall). Damaged during World War II, the edifice was partially modified during reconstruction.
