wiki loves earth coordination[edit]

Dear Wikimedia Chapter,

First of all I would like to say thank you for your willingness to run Wiki Loves Earth in your countries. Together we will do our best to highlight most interesting and memorable places in different parts of the world.

I am writing to find out if you need any assistance in participating in Wiki Loves Earth (WLE) 2015. For the past two years many countries joined WLE and the whole world saw the photos of wonderful nature of their countries!

The international team (CCed) will gladly help you with the following:

1) technical coordination - we have some tools that were used for Wiki Loves Earth last year. Wiki Loves Monuments tools are to be adapted as well

2) support with list conversion. If you have lists of natural monuments in any machine-readable format, we should be able to help you converting them into a wiki format. If you have no idea where to find lists of natural monuments, we may try to help as well, but we do not guarantee that we will be able to do it.

3) supporting your grant requests - it's up to you to write them, but we can provide help with them.

4) providing souvenirs - e.g. calendars, postcards with best photos after the contest or before/during it in order to use them in promotion

If you have doubts or you are in need of anything else, please do not hesitate to write me or the Project Team at team@wikilovesearth.org, and we will see how we can help you.

I am deeply convinced that together we will manage to show every significant natural monument of our countries to the rest of the word.

Yours faithfully,

Ievgen Voropai Project coordinator WLE international team / Wikimedia Ukraine--Ievgen Voropai (talk) 10:29, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ievgen Voropai, thanks a lot for your offer to help out! You are supporting the chapters in a bunch of topic, good job! We, from WMES, are intested mainly in 2 topics:
  • What kind of tools do you mean under 1)? do you have or plan to have a tool to transfer massively pictures from a group in Flickr to Commons?.
  • I was part of the international jury of WLE last year and enjoyed the jury tool very much, we'd like to use it for WLE in Spain.
  • Regarding merchandasing, it is a bit late, but we can still make good use of it for this or beginning of next year. What can we order? do you have an standard package? I can provide you the address of the chapter in Spain.

Thank you for your words about jury tool. I did not plan for WLx specific flickr upload tool, but if might do it. There are some generic flickr upload tools though --Ilya (talk) 21:09, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ilya, we know those tools since we needed something in this direction last time, but none of them offers a easy way to move pictures from a Flickr group to Commons. They apply rather to a user account or to certains pictures, but not to all pictures collected in a group. There are other tools (bots) but more generic and that require high technical skills to adjust them to your needs. Poco2 11:03, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gracias por vuestra wikimedia[edit]

QUITAR UNA FOTOGRAFIA[edit]

Quisiera saber como doy de baja una fotografia subida. --Acuencam (talk) 16:44, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

--Kadellar (talk) 17:00, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
