Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2012/Exhibition
One of the ideas developed throughout the 2012 Wiki Loves Monuments competition was to organise a travelling photo exhibition of the 12 winning pictures that could be sent out and displayed in various countries around the world.
We are happy to announce that the plan can now come true, and we only need your involvement to make it happen!

The photo exhibition will include the 12 winning pictures as chosen by the international jury, and will travel around the world under the oversight of the international organising team.
We will finance the production of the photo plates and shipping boxes as well as cover the costs of international shipment (up to a certain amount), and could also help with press advisory, layouts for promotional materials, etc. The pictures will be printed in a high quality print in A1-sized (594 × 841 mm) durable aluminium dibond composite panels, which consist of two thin layers of aluminum with an intermediary polythylene core.
The costs of producing the exhibition are generously covered by Wikimedia Polska, the Wikimedia chapter for Poland, and by Hruby, a Berlin-based advertising agency who agreed to give us a significant discount from the original price. Our thanks go to the Board of Wikimedia Polska and to the management of Hruby for assisting us with the production of the exhibition.

As one can see, most of the boring work will be done by the international WLM team, but we need your help to actually organise the exhibition, and make this great idea come true!
We'd like you to have a look around and find local partners that could host the exhibition, and be responsible for press and promotional work. Such partners would be required to pick up the package, host the exhibition for a certain period of time, and send it further on to the next station; the pictures themselves will be delivered with all necessary items (labels, shipping papers, and possibly also certain Wikimedia or Wiki Loves Monuments-related goodies).
Timeline[edit]
- Start of the tour: December 2012;
- End of the tour: August-September 2013.
Taking into consideration that the exhibition should stay at least 10-14 days at each station, and that the shipping might take some time, we can have about 6-10 stations altogether.
