Paris public rail transports

[edit]

Request:

  • The background .png image couldn't be uploaded with the .svg file : agglo_paris.png
  • The image preview doesn't appear as it should be the case.

I think this image has a large potential to be used on several wikipedia articles. Thanks for your help. Metropolitan 15:15, 28 September 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Graphist opinion: It is not possible to use a png-image in a svg-file and let it be rendered by the wiki-software. --Andreas 06 (talk) 20:36, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe bitmaps inside SVG files work (though are usually not recommended). However, in this file, the bitmap is not actually embedded but is instead just a reference to a separate file left on the uploader's hard drive, so obviously it can't be rendered by mediawiki. That is the reason why previews are not showing up as well; the rendering software cannot find the image and aborts. Carl Lindberg (talk) 06:17, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jumping Jerboa skeleton sequence

[edit]

Article(s): Jerboa, Lesser Egyptian Jerboa

Request: Could someone clean up the background of this image, preferably by making it black (or anything which contrasts white)? It would also be nice to retain some sort of horizontal line, as is already in the image in the form of the edge of the glass plate the skeletons are mounted on. Contrast and sharpness probably has to be fixed too. A hard task, but I bet it'll be fun to do. FunkMonk (talk) 14:17, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion:

Personally, I'd be more willing to work on this if the image were public domain. ¦ Reisio (talk) 20:11, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, why? I don't really care what the license is, but I just don't see what difference it would make? FunkMonk (talk) 20:47, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here it is, but it is a little bit blurry, specially around the skeleton at top. I am confused, the file contains Photoshop CS3 metadata if you merged these images you should have Photoshop CS3 so why didn't you edit it yourself ??   ■ MMXXtalk  14:07, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I started to work on it too by removing the background, but if the edited version by MMXX is ok, I stop because it needs quite a work. Sting (talk) 14:38, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, looks good so far, I don't think it needs further editing actually. you could just as well replace the file I uploaded since it's useless and ugly. And I didn't clean it myself simply because I'm not skilled enough with Photoshop yet to do it efficiently. FunkMonk (talk) 15:08, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your welcome.   ■ MMXXtalk  05:24, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
