Trouble with Inkspace[edit]

Hi! I decided to translate one of the *.SVG pictures using the Inkspace application, but there are still several bad errors, that I couldn't manage to repair. Could anyone please repair it and tell me what was wrong? Here's the file. Thank you. --Sandris.Ā (talk) 09:22, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't use inkspace much, but I understand that you must save the file in plain-SVG. J.smith (talk) 06:11, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't help... --80.232.250.214 13:04, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd recommend opening the original file in the built in XML editor in Inkscape and just replacing the text with the translations. That is don't add your own text boxes. The main reason for this is that MediaWiki is quite sensitive how text is rendered and as you can see from the file history of Image:Vegan food pyramid.svg they needed a few tries to get it rigth.
Alternatively remove all of the text from the pyramid and add all of your translations in creating each text element from scratch. Looking at the code it looks as though you have reused some text elements and then created others leaving a lot of leftover bits of code. /Lokal_Profil 14:44, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is the font used. The wiki render can't use Arial (it's commercial)! (and the black blocks are empty characters, try using DejaVu Sans or DejaVu Sans Condensed) ;)

Request: Basically, what I would like done is the borders on Image:World 500 BCE.png placed on an blank SVG map of the world, with the same colours that the map already has (or different colours, as long as if you change one area's colours, you change the rest of that colour). I have provided above a blank SVG map of the world, if the designer wishes to use it, but anyone who undertakes this task is quite welcome to use any SVG map of the world (provided it doesn't have any type of boundary already on it).
