Royal Gibraltar Regiment cap badge[edit]

Article(s): en:Royal Gibraltar Regiment

Request: Could someone please create an SVG version of the cap badge of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment found here? The current version on wikipedia has a poor resolution and the article where it is used would benefit from the conversion. If you could contact me back on my talk page I would really appreciate it. Thanks. --Gibmetal 77talk 12:19, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion: For a free version to be created the en:blason of the cap badge would be needed since the linked to image is copyrighted. /Lokal_Profil 23:18, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find the blason for it. Is there no other way it couldbe done? Would the same apply to a Police badge? Regards, --Gibmetal 77talk 08:41, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Without a blasoning any image would be a derivative of the original and thus subject to the same copyright. Same thing goes for the police badge. /Lokal_Profil 01:14, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About Coat of arms of Vietnam[edit]

Hi, two COAs of Vietnam in Commons ( and ) are not identical with the source image http://www.mofa.gov.vn/en. There are some mistakes like:

  • The cogwheel must show 10 cogs
  • The space between two rice's leaves is too narrow
  • The Vietnamese name of SRV is not in Vietnamese
  • ...

I hope that anyone can correct it exactly with source image. Changing a national symbol will make it less serious and disrespect that nation. I can show you another Vietnam's source http://www.na.gov.vn/htx/English/C1330/. Vinhtantran (talk) 09:26, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is the copyright status of these CoAs? They seem to be copied from the official website, but only list pd-self. Does vietnam have laws similar to eg poland exampting all government symbols from copyright? Regards, Marmelad (talk) 12:05, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The second one is from Vector-images.com so that one will probably have to go. And the svg one depends, as Marmelad mentioned, on Vietnamese copyright law. The only info I found about the CoA on the mofa.gov.vn and the na.gov.vn pages is "The national emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is circular in shape; in the middle of a red background is a five-pointed golden star framed by rice ears below which is half a cogwheel and the inscription: Socialist Republic of Vietnam." If this is how the Coat of arms is defined then the cogweels in the above images are both right. /Lokal_Profil 12:45, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lambang Kabupaten/Kota di Indonesia[edit]

Hi, 'lambang' are coats of arms in Indonesian, Javanese, Sundanese, Banyumasan, and (I think) Malay. Many of the lambang for Indonesia's provinces are in Category:Coats of arms of Indonesia and are in either PNG or SVG format. However, I have been transferring many more from id:wp/jv:wp &c. for the Kabupaten and Kota (Regencies and Cities); these are the next level of government. Most of these images are off .go.id domain web sites (Indonesian Government) and are covered by {{PD-IDGov}}. There are more than a hundred more to transfer and several hundred more to trackdown.

I'm not a graphics expert. Many of these images would benefit from expert attention; any takers? Many of the images are of rather low-quality, but better ones are emerging as the Indonesians improve their Government websites, and as new, quality, images are available, I would hope they could be cleaned-up and converted to better formats, such as SVG. I am attending to deploying these images to other wikis, and with the help of one of the bots floating about, better images will get used by a lot of pages.

Panoramic View[edit]

assemble into panoramic view. Post as "

Done - Richardprins (talk) 15:47, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't delete them tough, can a moderator do that?

Nice work! There is some cruft on the left (not great cropping) and there is a line in the gradient which is the sky between two of the images, but mostly this was a great effort. Is there any reason that the individual pieces need to be deleted? -- carol (talk) 19:07, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was planning to delete them just because of the fact that each individual segment would look "incomplete". Also, I'd like to thank you on the effort! And thanks to whoever formatted my message; I was in a hurry. Deathgleaner (talk) 03:44, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Simple border removal[edit]

Request: -- If I understand correctly that borders are frowned upon, could someone please crop these images precisely to get rid of the borders? Thanks, Astrojunta (talk) 02:06, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion:: {{Remove border}} puts images like this into a category where both human beings and experimental bots work. -- carol (talk) 22:12, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Error in Equations of Primordial Nucleosynthesis[edit]

Resolved00:06, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Article(s): Nucleosynthesis

Request: In the second equation in the right column two deuterium nuclei are shown reacting and yielding a helium-3 nucleus and a photon. There are four nucleons in two deuterium nuclei, three in a helium-3 nucleus. The number of nucleons should be the same before and after the reaction. In this reaction one of the products is helium-3. The other is not a photon but a neutron. Instead of "γ" (the Greek letter gamma, symbol for a photon) please substitute "n0" (the letter n with a superscripted 0, symbol for a neutron).

Graphist opinion: done. /Marmelad (talk) 13:08, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I get for blindly converting the png to svg without actually reading the text =) ./Lokal_Profil 00:06, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
