ISO Setting? Hey, there are people having a camera, not a dumb digital micro box. I dont think that a camera like a Nikon F70 with a NIKKOR 20 mm 1.2 is a bad camera. That strikes me as odd as well. I really like this photograph because I know what it is, but not necessarily for the composition or content itself (though I do think it's rather pretty, but I'm partial to desert landscapes). I found it and uploaded it to the Commons (shown on the right). This image seems to have started a tradition of getting sunset shots with every mission, with the featured picture candidate being the latest example. - the rover is in the middle of a very big crater (Gusev), at the horizon there are the borders of the crater where the sun is seting, and the pic is taken within the giant crater in a small hill. Bay Area San Francisco picture better

Can you, take me one Bay Area San Francisco picture better?
Well, here you can see the San Francisco airport, airterminal, airplain by airplain, you can see Berkeley University Campus building by buliding, you can see Alcatraz Isle and its building, Golden Gate pilon, all in one, focused from 290 Kilometers altitude, I would like to see better, if you can.
They didn't cut.
You can see from Pacific Ocean to Sierra Nevada and its lake, San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay comprise, all in one real focused in appropriate spaced framing.
The intriguing aspects are the technical data to take this photo:

speed? Shuttle Columbia goes 27.000 Km/h, what's time exposure to take so large and so deep, real focused photo in all corner, at this speed?
camera? How many meters is the HB camera length?
chemical? How is the film for a resolution of the distance between the nearest buildins?
astronomical? Latitude and Longitude of spacecraft (Nadir), Sun Azimuth and Sun elevation?

I saw a lot of photos from space but shorelines and mountains, buildings and bridge, jail and university, parks and hills, all focused visible toghether are rare.

Well the image is leaning (and I will fix it this evening) but the white balance is all right. Your change leaded to quite warm colors which was absolutely not the case. You might have noticed that the image was shot in December and there is a small layer of snow on the ground. So your color change is so unnatural that I had to revert the image. Regarding to the graycard: Due to a lack of a gray card I use at least three different exposures in difficult situations. This was the right one and it matches the place where it was shot - which is important for the WikiMedia issue, even if there might be some "nicer" versions by different coloring.
