Animated map of the evolution of Canada's provinces and territories

  •  Info I don't quite know if this is FPC material, but there's no peer review on commons, so I decided to throw it to the wolves. I am more than receptive of any advice or criticisms you have, but I think it's a right good map. :) Created by Golbez - uploaded by Golbez - nominated by... Golbez 22:46, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment Do the colours signify something? If so, you should explain what, somewhere (ie, the image description page). Also I would move the caption to the top right hand corner, it's a little bit too hidden in the bottom left. (And the corner also looks blank. :)) pfctdayelise (translate?) 08:13, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Pink = provinces; brown = territories; gray = foreign lands; kinda fuschiaish = disputed area. I thought it might be self-explanatory but maybe not. --Golbez 08:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Oppose ACK pfctdayelise + the map is wobbling in the thumbnail-version, the font is not very clear (see „dependency of Newfoundland” for example). Would like to have it as contour map. Furthermore it would be great to have all time steps given (in a timeline) and just the current step highlighted during the animation norro 22:36, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • As I said in my note, look at the full version - it wobbles because of the thumbnail artifacting. The full version does not. I'm thinking you went to the image page (where yes, "dependency of Newfoundland" is nearly illegible), but then didn't click for the full image. Did you? Also, what do you mean by having all the steps given? You mean like a timeline? As for a contour map... possible but that would be an entirely new project. --Golbez 22:59, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • You're right, i had a look at the image page, not at the full resolution version. I'm sorry. Timeline and contour map were ment to be suggestions for improvement. Kindly, norro 14:10, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Support Very good idea and very informative. The one thing that erks me about it is that maybe it goes a bit too fast. Anomity 21:47, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see *nothing* in that picture which could make it a "featured picture". Simply nothing. Gérard Janot 22:59, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
