Sluice in the afsluitdijk. (les sea, right lake)
  •  Comment The picture was taken after sunset so this is why the picture is so dark. The sun was in my back and there was a nice red glow on the other side of the sky. The picture was taken from a walkway and I stabilized the camera on the railing (1/40 without i.s.) . I could push the brightness but then the picture will get very grainy and not representative for the time it was taken. I guess a 3:2 crop removing some of the road could work. But I would not crop into the sides, than it will loose in symmetry.
  • How is this? I usually work with the 4:3 since I have a four thirds camera. But 3:2 might works better in this case :)
  • Better. But I would still prefer the brightness level of the original upload, with the current crop. Yes it has noise, but it's not too severe for me, whereas in the present version the NR has destroyed the texture of the grass. -- King of 20:05, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • You're right the grass did loose to much detail. The strange thing is, the original upload was a quick Picasa retouch strait out of the camera jpg. The others are made with lightroom. But I can't seem to get the same detail in the grass using the RAW file. Strange. (I've increase the brightness in the lower part a bit and fixed a slight ca issue)
  •  Info --New version uploaded: I've slightly enlightened the picture and enhanced the saturation, as well as done a noise reduction. Feel free to revert if you don't like the edit. Sting (talk) 22:25, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have no problem with someone else editing my uploads, especially when the results are good :) What picture did you use? And what software was used to reduce the noise. (Too bad we can't add RAW files to our uploads) - Uberprutser (talk) 23:36, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I used the last one. All mods were made in Photoshop; the color enhancement was in fact done with Vibration (and not Saturation) which gives better results; the Noise reduction is a standard built-in Photoshop filter, here at standard settings. Sting (talk) 00:13, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
