Commons:Arbitration
Introduction[edit]
Commons Wikimedia is a self-governing wiki that resolves its local issues and manages local access to the wiki through the Wikimedia Foundation unified login. All Commons Wikimedia issues are resolved fully internally within this wiki.
Global issues about user accounts and global access are managed by m:stewards.
Arbitration[edit]
There is no local policy for arbitration or arbitration processes at Commons Wikimedia. There is no local arbitration committee, nor is there a global committee able to arbitrate local Commons issues.
The guidance that we have is for dispute resolution.
A proposal was put before the community for a formal policy; that proposal failed to gain consensus. It still remains as guidance to how an arbitration could take place, but imposes no requirement to be used by any party.
