• English: Hello! My name is Eddie, and I'd like to request administratorship. I am a native English and Spanish speaker, and I also know a little French. I have been a proud "Commoner" since July 20, 2007 (4 months ago) and have amassed over 1,100 edits. I have uploaded over 100 images; over 40 of them were transfered here by me from the English Wikipedia, and the rest are mostly from Flickr. I've been an active trusted user here for 2 months, and while reviewing Flickr images, I have found countless copyvios. I would like to start deleting these copyvios instead of contributing to the backlog of speedy deletion requests. I was an active user at the English Wikipedia for 7 months and amassed ~9000 edits, but decided to cease my activity there after some bad experiences. I requested adminship there twice, first under the name "Boricuaeddie", and then under the name "Agüeybaná"; both failed due to my "bad attitude". I sincerely wish for my readiness for adminship here to be evaluated using my edits here, and not my actions there, as I believe things are very different there and that I have not shown said "bad attitude" here. I hope to address any concerns raised here regardless of its outcome. Thanks for your time.

He sido un miembro de la Comunidad de Commons desde el 20 de julio de este año (hace 4 meses) y he hecho sobre 1.100 ediciones. He subido sobre 100 imagenes; más de 40 de ellas fueron movidas aquí por mí desde la Wikipedia en inglés y el resto son de Flickr, en su mayoría. He sido un usuario confiable por 2 meses y, mientras reviso imagenes de Flickr, he encontrado muchas violaciones a los derechos de autor. Desearía empezar a borrar estas violaciones en vez de contribuir a la gran cantidad de cosas que hay que borrar. Espero poder mejorar mi forma de contribuir basado en los comentarios que aquí se produzcan, sin importar el resultado de esta votación. Gracias por su tiempo.
• Français : Bonjour! Je m'appelle Eddie et je voudrais demander le statut d'administrateur. Je parle l'anglais et l'espagnol natalement et parle un peu français. J'ai commencé à contribuer aux Commons le 20 juillet. J'ai amassé plus de 1,100 contributions. J'ai téléversé plus de 100 images; plus de 40 d'entre eux ont été transférés ici par moi de la Wikipédia en anglais et le reste est surtout de Flickr. J'ai été un utilisateur fidèle actif ici depuis 2 mois et en reconsidérant des images de Flickr, j'ai trouvé beaucoup de violations des droits d'auteurs. Je désirerais commencer à supprimer ces violations. J'espère pouvoir améliorer ma forme de contribuer basé sur les commentaires qui se produisent ici, sans importer le résultat de ce vote. •  Support, of course, and multi-lingual = better. Just a side note though: when a discussion is in one language, say English, don't start writing in Spanish for no particular reason.   That's easily debatable, since the Administrators page got translated to a bunch of languages. Keep in mind that this is a multilingual project, and therefore any user can use any language they want in a discussion. It may even be more helpful for users who don't understand English as well as we do, such as Shizhao. 哦， 是吗？(User:O) 15:22, 25 November 2007 (GMT)

  It isn't just English, that's an example. Eddie can speak English and Spanish, and chooses to use Spanish in an English discussion. I didn't see any point to it. If the discussion was in Spanish, and he wrote in English, I'd say the same thing. In my opinion, it's best to be consistent, so as to be less confusing.   I'll walk you through the logs. After he was renamed from Boricuadeddie to Agüeybaná [1], Boricuadeddie was recreated by a vandal [2]. The account was blocked [3] but then started creating vandal accounts [4] and was then reblocked with account creation disabled [5]. I do not believe the person asking for adminship here has ever been blocked on en.wiki except once voluntarily [6] (presumably as some sort of enforced Wikibreak). Thanks for the walk through... this reminds me that we need to do a better job of reminding people that when they get their id renamed, they may want to re-register the old name to prevent someone from vandalising it the way this user was. Also until we get SUL, people's userids sometimes get usurped this way on wikis they've never ever been on. The reason I even looked into this at all is that some vandal is grabbing Bori's userid elsewhere too... Some friendly crat on en ought to move that userid away via usurpation or something. ++Lar: t/c 19:56, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
