UK or GB / NI?[edit]

Given the differences in gauge and general lack of commonality between Northern Ireland and Britain, should the major "by country" characterisation for the UK be "... of great Britain" , rather than "... of the United Kingdom"? We could still retain "... of the United Kingdom" as metacategories, with "... of Northern Ireland" too.

This would also reflect categorization and naming over at en:Rail transport in Great Britain Andy Dingley (talk) 19:32, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
