Why proposed move[edit]

ALL other categories about "people" (Category:People by country) follow the scheme "People of Nameofthecountry", for example, "Category:People of Italy", not "Category:Italians", "Category:People of Germany", not "Category:Germans". Unless there is any cogent reason to follow another rule, I don't see why this category alone should follow a different rule. "Palestinains" outght be kept only as a category redirect to People of Palestine, i.e. {{see cat|People of Palestine}}--User:G.dallorto 17:12, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually there is. It is unclear what the name Palestine refers to here. First of all, Palestine is not a name of a country (yet), so there are no political boundaries which we can refer too. Secondly, the name Palestine can refer to the whole region which encompasses Israel, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and parts of Lebanon and Jordan. Furthermore, one may think that this is a historical category referring to the residence of the former British Mandate of Palestine. In short, as long as there is no country with borders which is called Palestine, this title is too confusing. Drork (talk) 13:49, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It should be Category:Palestinians and not Category:People of Palestine. See:
