Category talk:PD coat of arms definitions

What's the exact purpouse of this category? Many images I see here are not PD (oublic domain) but instead use various licences (mostly CC-BY_SA and/or GFDL). On the other hand, a coat of arms' blasonning is almost always in the public domain (it's akin to a language, which you can't copyright). If this category is about the images' legal status, many images currently in the category should be moved out. If its about the legal status of the blazonning I think the category is superfluous (as almost every coat of arms image would then fit and it would only create confusion (I had to spend several days explaining to someone why he was violating licences en masse recently as he thought all images here were PD, categories like these only add to this kind of confusion)).--Caranorn 21:49, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
