Subcategories[edit]

Subcategories should be created probably for the counties, see en:ISO 3166-2:EE or Category:Counties of Estonia. Multichill (talk) 11:43, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done created subcategories and added Commonscat links from the lists at et:Vikipeedia:Vikiprojekt Kultuuripärand/Eesti kultuurimälestised. Bot is running now to sort the images. Next step would probably be to split it out by municipality and update the Commonscat links. Multichill (talk) 11:43, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's nice that this can be done using a bot. Now that we have subcategories, the bot could also check other images in database that were removed or were never included here. Can we also add categories of specific monuments here (e.g Category:Rakvere Church under Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Lääne-Viru County) so that the bot either skips images that are already in cultural monuments category tree or deals with overcategorization by removing e.g File:Rakvere kirik 05-06-2012.jpg from "Cultural heritage monuments in Lääne-Viru County" if "Rakvere Church" once is a subcategory of the latter? 88.196.241.249 16:46, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you should add categories of specific monuments to the tree. I did it for this church and I also added the tracker template.
At the moment the bot isn't smart enough to remove the overcategorization, but that might be added as a feature in the future. My first priority is to get these main categories sorted out. Multichill (talk) 18:25, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see that the bot already recognizes some monument specific categories, e.g. here. This is nice, but why it doesn't to the same here though there is a category with tracker template? Besides I've find some overcategorization cases like this and wonder why the bot did that? 88.196.241.249 08:10, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
