Merge/rename[edit]

I think it would be best to merge this category into Category:Belarusian heritage monuments and to rename all the subcategories from Cultural heritage monuments in .. to Belarusian heritage monuments in ... Opinions? Multichill (talk) 11:26, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, moved the top level. Lower levels should be moved to. I'm also under the impression that a lot is missing. If I look at en:Regions of Belarus we should have 7 regions which should contain a lot of districts (raions).
Also Commonscat links should be added from the Wikipedia lists and categories to make automagic categorization work. Multichill (talk) 13:25, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please read my conversation with Yaroslav Blanter at my user discussion page here in Commons. It's all about this awkward category. Wizardist (talk) 13:51, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, it's in Russian. Well, the main point may be understood via GTranslate. Wizardist (talk) 13:53, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't care what structure we use as long at is one. :-)
I think I get it. Everything should be in the form Category:Cultural heritage monuments in ...? Please confirm, than I can just move everything and fix the configuration of the bot. Multichill (talk) 13:58, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, everything from Category:Belarusian heritage monuments should be moved to Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Belarus after the wizard has been changed in such a way that new photos arrive into this second category. The top-level divisions (six Provinces and the city of Minsk) are already there, and the second-level categories (districts and cities) are being created, but I would suggest that the photos could be already moved to the province categoris, this would make it much easier to categorize. It is up to Wizardist to decide, this is only my suggestion.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:11, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Per Ymblanter. Btw, photos with proper ID provided can be added to the relevant Province categories by a bot (the ID is a combination of alpha-numerals with every position having its own meaning). It's likely to be arranged by a cron-powered bot which would add newly uploaded or tagged photos to the relevant Province category, don't you think so? Wizardist (talk) 14:29, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Will move everything in the one structure. As for the categorization: My bot needs information for that. Can you add Commonscat links to the lists and the categories the lists are in (example)? Multichill (talk) 14:48, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Lists are according to the districts, and the districts categories are not yet ready. I will try to create all of them today. In any case, the monument code is such that the Province (one of the seven) is obvious.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:54, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, moved everything here and added some links. I can run the bot now and than it will end up in the region categories or I can wait a bit so you have time to create the district categories. What do you want me to do? I did notice the difference in naming at Category:Subdivisions of Belarus and en:Regions of Belarus. We might want to make that more consistent in the future. Multichill (talk) 15:27, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks. I will wait for Wizardist to decide (we can reasonably expect to have the district categories in a couple of days), just to remark that I currently seem to be the only person editing articles on Belarus in English Wikipedia, and they are tremedously inconsistent over there, clearly reflected some Polish-Russian struggles.--Ymblanter (talk) 15:32, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do a first pass on this category and I can always do a second pass on the region categories. That way this category isn't so crowded anymore (my bot gets stuck on it in the daily run). Multichill (talk) 15:57, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay, guys. Despite I'd like to name the new districts categories according to the new romanization system, the best way I think will be to use districts names already used in Commons. That is what I do here. Wizardist (talk) 21:51, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Attention needed[edit]

Please note that I put related categories that need attention in this category. --Foroa (talk) 13:20, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can't help with all these images. I will just redirect these categories into others. --Renessaince (talk) 18:03, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
