Local grade listed ~~Memorial for water walkers and water mill workers and to the victims of the Danube /other titles: Memorial to the victims of the Danube; Memorial place for water walkers and water millers/ planned by Márkó Szili, Ferenc Sudár (~contractor). Installed in 2000. The memorial is an iron anchor, millstones, cemetery cross and plaque. The inscription on its memorial plaque: 'In memory of the victims of water millers, waterwalkers and the Danube/Installed by the Municipality of Ercsi / 2000' - There is no bridge between Budapest and Dunaújváros on the Danube, you can only get from one bank of the Danube to the other by ferry. Therefore, water transport has always been important in the life of the settlement. The water of the Danube provided employment opportunities for water millers. Many soldiers lost their lives in the great crossing of the Danube on December 5, 1944, when German soldiers crossed the Danube. A skater bathing in many waters, and in winter a skater on the frozen Danube also lost his life. The memorial place was made in their memory. - Riverside Park at Köztársaság Square, Ercsi, Fejér County, Hungary.
