Upper Zhamatun, Geghard
Deutsch: Obere Vorhalle in Geghard in Armenien
English: Upper Gavit in Geghard in Armenia.

"According to the inscription on one of the central columns, it was built in the year 1288. during the epoche of Papak (son of Prince Prosh) and his wife Rousakan The plan is typical of the Armenian gavits: a square space with a domed roof supported by four freestanding central columns. It is interesting to note that several Khatchkar carved into the rock face, are not carved but painted. In the interior there are the tombs carrying the inscriptions "Merik" and "G(h)rig(h)or"; however the tombs of Papak and Rousakan have disappeared." Geghard, page 8
