English: Tartu Castle was the administrative center of Bishopric of Dorpat. It was located about where nowadays is the Old Observatory in Tartu, Estonia. The castle was destroyed in the Great Northern War and most of the ruins removed during the XVIII century fortification works. Currently, nothing of the former castle is visible.
