The Ta is a historical gold weight of the Akan in Ghana and the Ivory Coast for the weighing of gold dust.

The equalization of "Ta" with "Pereguan" or "Benna ne dwoasuru" (both at Garrard) is misleading.

Theoretical weight:

- 51.246 g (Abel for Baulé)
- 52.560 g (Abel for Agni)

other weight variants of "Ta"

- 52,8 g (Garrard) (= 3 Sua = 3 x 17,6 g) (=Ta (c)
(see Wikimedia Commons Category:Suasa (gold weight))
- 54.4236 g (Garrard) (= Ta (d))
(see Wikimedia Commons Category:Suasa (gold weight))
- 70.4 g (Garrard) (= Ta (e))

Real weight:

- 50,8 g (Inventory number MHNT.ETH.2010.25.108 in the "Muséum de Toulouse") (Brass figure of a bird with long, wavelike crooked neck)
- 51,3 g (Inventory number MHNT.ETH.2010.25.011 in the "Muséum de Toulouse") (Brass figure of a stylized scorpion)
- 51,5 g (Inventory number MHNT.ETH.2010.25.046 in the "Muséum de Toulouse") (Brass figure of a knife, cutlass or Akan sword (scimitar))
- 51,8 g (Inventory number MHNT.ETH.2010.25.051 in the "Muséum de Toulouse") (Brass figure of a flintlock handgun)

Value equivalents:

1 Ta = 240 Taku = 360 Ba (Abel)
240 Taku = 40 Ackies (Abel)
(1 Ounce = 16 Ackies (European trade))
