The Sacramento Assembly Center was one of 15 temporary detention centers administered by the Wartime Civil Control Administration. It operated May 6 – June 26, 1942. On December 1, 1942, Camp Kohler was dedicated at the same site as a United States Army Signal Corps Replacement Center. Sacramento Assembly Center was one of the 12 California temporary detention centers to share designation as California Historical Landmark No. 934, named in 1980.
