English: The Stop the Cuts Alliance on the Isle of Wight was formed in 2011 following announcements by the Isle of Wight Council that due to funding cuts from central government, services such as libraries, tourist information services and public toilets would close down. So far a march through Newport was held on 19 February followed by a protest outside County Hall shortly before the full council meeting to decide the budget. A smaller protest was also held before the Council cabinet meeting to discuss the cuts on 1 March and a rally took place in St Thomas' Square in Newport on 7 May.
