There were three main entrances, to the east, south and west. The main gate, called the Gate of Persecution, is in the south and has two square towers on either side of an arched entrance. To adorn it a sarcophagus surface with Eros reliefs was used. This is a sub-category of a category that is wrongly named as the basilica is NOT in Ephesus, but in Selçuk. But for most tourists it will be just part of their visit to Ephesus.
