The Palace of the Quetzal butterfly, probably house of an influential priest, is situated near the Pyramid of the Moon and contains a courtyard and the remnants of the Palacio de los Jaguares and the Templo de los caracoles emplumados, dating back to the 2nd century A.C., with important mural paintings.
