Madame Desargus (ca.1798–1870), also known as Madame Desargus-Lemière (or Lemière-Desargus), was the prima ballerina of the Berlin Opera from 1817 to 1832. Possibly French in origin, actress Karoline Bauer mentions Desargus in her memoirs, describing her as close to the family of King Frederick William III of Prussia, giving lessons in French and dance to Princess Liegnitz (Auguste von Harrach). According to Bauer, she married "the handsome harp-player Desargus, a countryman of hers" (possibly Xavier Desargus, 1808–1848, son of the harpist and composer of the same name).
