English: Kala is a mythological animal, a monster with the head of a lion seen frontally. In Cambodia it is better known as the head of Rahu.
A unique peculiarity is the absence of the lower jaw and the presence of two forearms - often reduced to two hands - on each side of the face, holding garlands exiting from its mouth. Sometimes its referred to as Kirtimukha
