Ivo Del Greco was an Italian soldier (11 September 1923, 15 January 2015) deported to Nazi concentration camps, for forced labor, for refusing to go and fight against the partisans.

He told his story in 2010, at the Quirinale, in Rome, where he received a bronze medal, thus obtaining an acknowledgment of his courage, “The State finally recognizes the sacrifice of the many deportees like me who have faced imprisonment. This is an important symbolic compensation, but also a way to keep the memory alive at all times.”

Ivo was interviewed by a journalist, Alice Barontini, who published the testimony in the Livorno newspaper the 'Tirreno'. His story is an example of heroism, of a strong passion for life, always guided by the hope of the rebirth of love.
