Category:Images from the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library - Romanov Family Albums

This category collects images from the six Romanov family photo albums stored in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library of the Yale University. The photos are taken between 1907 and 1915. Most of the photos are - collected by the family and not published - anonymous and so no individual authors are named in the Library or elsewhere, presumably this works are public domain according to {{PD-Russia-2008}}. Nevertheless a circle of photographers is identifiable and maybe there is room for future research and speculations about the authorship.

This category is also an attempt to fix the mess people created with uploading photographs without providing a source. Its a pity that so many online resources exists but only a very few people know interesting resources like this and those few people are not able to simply provide a weblink to their resource so that following Wikipedians and readers can follow their weblink and explore and enjoy the sources too. Its a shame that people throw uploads like this or this to Commons, that uploads scream: "If you want the exact information search it yourself, stupid reader! Thats a shame.

I created an weblink example at File:OTMAA 1910 in court dress.3.jpg - may others please improve that example and follow it and add source links to all the images of the Romanov family photos, most photos are from this collection.

Searching e.g. for Olga Romanov brings a set that you can search with your eye to find the image and improve the description on Commons.
