English: Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf, Sr. (1895–1958), usually known as H. Norman Schwarzkopf, was an American police administrator and military officer. He entered the U.S. Army in World War I and reached the rank of colonel by 1921. He was the first head of the New Jersey State Police from 1921 to 1936, including during the 1932 Lindbergh kidnapping. He re-entered the U.S. Army at the start of World War II, and reached the rank of Major general (2-star general) by 1953. (His son, Norman Schwarzkopf, Jr., was a famous general in the 1990s.)
